Navy Music Group's Big Prem turns in a sun-soaked video for his new single 'Silk Season'.

The Lewisham rapper has teamed up with Astral Black label head & Balamii radio host Jon Phonics on production for his sophisticated new single 'Silk Season'.

'Silk Season' is the first single lifted from the duo's collaborative EP of the same name and sees Prem levitate lyrically over Phonics' free-floating production. Prem packs the front end of the track with bars touching on mental resilience, family and knowledge of self. Exemplifying the Lewisham MC's ability to set levels stylistically, depicting detailed descriptions whilst consistently retaining the ability to think outside the box & see the bigger picture.

Family ties resulted in a young Prem growing up spending time back and forth between London and LA, here on 'Silk Season' the artist successfully bridges the sounds of the two cities together. The project sees Jon Phonics using sounds traditionally associated with G-Funk era and turning them out with a London flex, whilst Prem tells stories of London living channelling the spirit of west-coast luminaries Nate Dogg & Devin The Dude, reaching soulful high notes we didn't know the young MC was capable of.

The 'Silk Season' visual is shot by Kwimoh & sees Prem watching the sunset over the manor that made the man, from Lewisham's Blythe Hill.
